25-year-old man wanted in North Carolina caught in Florida

June 09, 2017 | Drug Crimes

A 25-year-old man was apprehended by Florida authorities earlier this week. Allegedly, when police arrested him, the man was sitting inside a stolen car at a St. Augustine Beach. Allegedly, someone had given him the car in exchange for meth.

The young man, who was wanted in North Carolina, was arrested at approximately 8 p.m. last Sunday. Police did not take notice of him until an officer ran a report on the tags of an unoccupied Chrysler Sebring. After running the plates, the officer found that the car had been reported stolen.

Later, officers claim that the 25-year-old man was seen unlocking the door of the car. Police immediately arrested him. They say that he the man admitted to selling drugs, and that someone had provided him the vehicle in exchange for meth.

Shortly after that, Hardister was observed unlocking the car, and he was arrested, Hardister told police he was a drug dealer who had fronted a person methamphetamine in exchange for the car.

Police say that the man has a warrant out for his arrest in North Carolina due to a parole violation. He has charges pending in Johnston and Wake Counties and he’s listed by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety as an “absconder.” As of last reports, the man was being held at the jail in St. Johns County.

It’s important to note that the man in this case — as well as anyone else arrested for an alleged crime — will have the right to defend him or herself against the allegations in criminal court. In the instant man’s criminal proceedings, it is likely that he’ll first have to face his Florida drug charges. Then, it’s possible that he could be extradited to North Carolina to face his other pending charges.
