Led by Award-Winning Attorneys Kevin Marcilliat and Miranda Mills
Navigating the landscape of Title IX investigations can be complex, but Marcilliat & Mills PLLC, with proven track record, is here to help you determine the best course of action and next steps, fast. Call us today.
These investigations and hearings can lead to suspension, expulsion, or a permanent mark on your record—and they often move quickly, with little warning. Even when the school isn’t following its own rules, that won’t protect you unless you fight back the right way. When the issue involves sexual assault or misconduct, you want a criminal defense lawyer who understands both the school system and the law. Schools have investigators, advisors, and administrators looking out for their own interests. You deserve someone tough and experienced on your side to defend yours. Don’t try to navigate this alone, what you say can be used against you.
At Marcilliat & Mills PLLC, we are a team of effective, client-focused criminal defense lawyers in North Carolina. Our goal – whether avoidance, acquittal, reduction or dismissal – is to always achieve the best possible outcome in your case.
Attorney Kevin Marcilliat comes from a family of lawyers and has been defending people in North Carolina since law school, where – still just a student – he won his first not-guilty verdicts.
In his early years as a law student, he took on two criminal cases and secured not-guilty verdicts for both, a remarkable achievement considering he started handling misdemeanors in his third year. His dedication to becoming a criminal defense attorney was evident from the beginning.
The pivotal factor in Kevin’s journey as a successful advocate for clients was the invaluable guidance provided by mentors. By the time Kevin graduated from law school, he had interned at the largest public defender’s office in North Carolina, the Mecklenburg County Public Defender’s Office, and later at the Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of North Carolina in Raleigh. Upon entering private practice, Kevin was assigned to defend his first felony case within the first week on the job.
