Former Johnston County Teacher Charged with Sex Crimes
By KevinMarcilliat, In Sex Crimes, 0 CommentsA 64-year-old Clayton man has been charged with a number of sex crimes after allegedly engaging in illicit acts over a four year period. The man was a substitute teacher in the Johnston County schools from 2006 to 2010. The sex acts occurred at the same time as the man was employed as a substitute teacher.
The North Carolina man has been charged with three counts of attempted first-degree sex offense, five counts of taking indecent liberties with a child and one count of statutory rape. The young girl was 11-years-old when the sexual abuse started and 15-years-old when it ended, according to Johnston County law enforcement officers.
Police investigators do not believe that the sex crimes are connected to the man’s employment at the Johnston Schools. He had substitute employment at Clayton Middle School, Archer Lodge Middle School, Cleveland High School and West Johnston High School between the four years.
The man is currently being held in Johnston County jail on an $850,000 bond.
